CONTEXT MATTERS
What the numbers tell you
Steam, Twitch and Google measure different kinds of activity. Compare each signal over time to understand how interest in OpenFront is changing.
How ActivePlayer collects dataHow many people are playing right now?
660 concurrent Steam players were recorded in the latest available update. Check the timestamp beside the count for freshness.
How often do the numbers refresh?
The live count checks for updates every five minutes while this page is open. Monthly history and search interest update less frequently. If a feed is unavailable, the last available figures remain visible with their timestamp.
Why might a chart show a gap?
A gap means a measurement is missing. It does not mean zero players, zero viewers, or zero search interest. Newly released games may have only a short history.
The game behind the numbers
About OpenFront
OpenFront is a real-time strategy game where hundreds of players compete on a shared world map. Developed by OpenFront Inc and Evan Pellegrini, it combines territorial expansion, economic decisions, diplomacy, and escalating military pressure.
A border is a negotiation as well as a front line
Players begin with a small area and decide where to expand, when to invest in their economy, and which neighbors to approach as allies. Ports, cities, naval operations, and missile defenses add layers to the map. The Steam version shares servers and cross-platform multiplayer with the browser version. That shared pool is a defining part of the game: the people shaping a match may have joined through different devices and storefronts.
Steam is a window into a larger shared battlefield
OpenFront player count tracks simultaneous Steam sessions, not everyone playing through a web browser or another device. Because those audiences can share matches, the Steam total should not be presented as the size of the entire matchmaking pool. It also does not identify which map, mode, or clan a player has joined. Compare several days of Steam activity to follow this particular access route, while keeping broader community claims separate. Twitch viewers may be following a competitive match, and search traffic may come from browser players; neither can simply be added to Steam concurrency to produce a worldwide total.
