The Pikmin 4 Switch 2 demo is available ahead of the full edition’s November 12, 2026 release. Nintendo’s store page offers the free download for Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Dandori Academy.
What is included in the free demo?
Nintendo Life’s November 2 availability report says the trial covers Sun-Speckled Terrace, the base game’s first main area, and two Dandori Academy challenges. It also reports that the demo’s save data carries into the full game, allowing players to continue their progress if they buy it.
That makes the trial useful for trying the opening exploration and a sample of the new challenges. It is a limited demo, so its contents should not be confused with everything planned for the full edition.
Nintendo Switch 2 features and upgrade price
Nintendo lists sharper visuals, microphone commands for Oatchi and Dandori Academy among the edition’s additions. The full Academy mode is planned to receive 72 stages over time, with different difficulty levels. Nintendo also advertises GameShare support for Dandori Battles, subject to its local and online requirements.
Nintendo’s Pikmin Day Direct page lists the full edition for November 12 and a US$9.99 Upgrade Pack for existing Pikmin 4 owners. The upgrade requires the original game; regional prices can differ. Nintendo held the Pikmin Day presentation on November 1.
Watch Nintendo Treehouse demonstrate the edition
Nintendo’s official Treehouse presentation shows the new Dandori exams in action. It provides a fuller look at the mechanics beyond the demo download.
