Thief: The Dark Project Remastered launches on December 3, 2026, with a new campaign included. Nightdive, Eidos-Montréal and Atari’s November 2 announcement confirms The Tarnished Mirror alongside the original 1998 game and the additional Thief Gold content.
What The Tarnished Mirror adds
The new campaign comes from the creators of The Black Parade and is designed to bridge The Dark Project and Thief II: The Metal Age. The publisher also confirms compatibility with player-created mods, including The Black Parade.
For returning players, the distinction is useful: this is additional campaign content within the remastered package, rather than a promise that the remaster only contains the original missions.
Platforms and the Switch upgrade
The announced platforms are PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG. Xbox Play Anywhere support is also listed.
Nintendo Switch owners are promised a free upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition. The publisher announcement separates standard and deluxe extras, with physical editions also available for preorder.
Official campaign teaser
Nightdive’s September 11 Tarnished Mirror teaser is earlier campaign footage; the December release details were announced on November 2.
