GTA 6 preload begins November 10, 2026, ahead of the game’s November 19 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar’s November 3 announcement says the download can require up to 212GB, depending on the device, so players should check free space before downloads open.
GTA 6 preload times on PS5 and Xbox
Rockstar’s preload FAQ gives different start rules for the two platforms:
- PS5 digital preorders: midnight in your local time zone on November 10.
- Xbox Series X|S digital preorders: November 10 at 00:00 GMT worldwide. That is 8:00 a.m. on November 10 in Singapore.
The distinction matters when planning a large download: the PS5 start follows your local clock, while Xbox uses a simultaneous global opening. Preloading prepares the files; the announced release date remains November 19.
Storage and automatic download settings
The support notice specifies up to 212GB of available space, rather than one identical download size for every console. For PS5 automatic downloads, enable auto-download and leave the console on or in Rest Mode. On Xbox Series X|S, enable automatic updates and leave the console on or in Sleep mode.
Rockstar separately says the code supplied in retail boxed editions can be redeemed for preloading from November 12 on both platforms. That should not be confused with the November 10 opening for digital preorders.
