A Petit Planet Switch 2 version is planned for 2027, following the free-to-play life sim’s December 4, 2026 launch on PC, iOS and Android. The Nintendo release has a year-long window rather than a specific day.
HoYoverse shared the latest plans in its official pre-launch special program. Gematsu’s report records the Switch 2 announcement and the earlier PC and mobile launch.
Petit Planet release dates by platform
- PC: December 4, 2026, through the Epic Games Store and a downloadable client.
- iOS and Android: December 4, 2026.
- Nintendo Switch 2: 2027; no exact date was included in this announcement.
For Nintendo players, the distinction matters: December 4 is the PC and mobile date. It should not be read as the Switch 2 launch date, and the 2027 window should not be narrowed to a month without another announcement.
What kind of game is Petit Planet?
Players become Planet Tenders, developing a home planet and meeting animal-like neighbours. A Luca Seed grows into a Luca Arbor, shaping the planet’s landscape and seasons. Exploration extends to islands across the Starsea and a Galactic Bazaar where players can share creations.
The focus is on shaping a living space and forming connections rather than following the combat-led structure familiar from other HoYoverse games. The publisher’s free-to-play description should not be taken to mean that every optional item will be free.

A different audience for HoYoverse
The Switch 2 announcement gives Nintendo players a confirmed platform to watch. It does not yet tell us how large that audience will be or how it will overlap with PC and mobile.
