Year 2023 surely a feat of amazing game releases with over hundreds of games released only few are on the apex! The 2023 Game Awards will prove that as it showcases a dazzling array of winners across various categories, celebrating the diversity and creativity in the gaming industry.
The event, hosted by Geoff Keighley, handed out over 30 awards, recognizing outstanding achievements in different facets of gaming.

Best RPG
Baldur’s Gate 3, developed by Larian Studios, a game that broke charts on its release, capturing over 1 million daily active players! The game emerged as the winner in this category, which beats other notable nominees like Final Fantasy 16 and Starfield.
Best Action/Adventure Game
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom clinched this title, beating out strong contenders like Alan Wake 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
Best Fighting Game
Street Fighter 6 from Capcom was recognized as the best in its category, and why wont it? The game is a pure classic fighting game, beating out other nominees such as Mortal Kombat 1 and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.
Best Family Game
Super Mario Bros. Wonder took home the award in this category, which also included games like Disney Illusion Island and Pikmin 4.
Best SIM/Strategy Game
Pikmin 4 won this award, standing out among other nominees like Advanced Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp and Cities: Skylines 2. To be honest, I have not actually played this game yet, but this game won the best Strategy category, I’m definitely checking this!
Best Sports/Racing Game
Forza Motorsport, praised for its exceptional graphics and gameplay, was the winner, surpassing games like EA Sports FC 24 and F1 23.
